A Naturopath is a health care practitioner who's main goal is to restore the body back to it's natural harmonious state. The body has an innate ability to heal itself, given, it is provided with the right building blocks and an environment that is conducive to optimal health. There is a strong emphasis on preventative medicine and we follow Naturopathic Principles of Care:
Primum Non Nocere (first, Do No Harm)
Avoid treatments that may cause harm or have significant side effects, prioritising gentile, non-invasive and effective (evidenced based where evidence is available) therapies that support the body's inherent healing abilities .
Vis Medicatrix Naturae (The Healing Power of Nature)
Nutritional and herbal remedies including supplementation is often effective at providing and stimulating the body towards healing and harmony without harmful side effects and often with side benefits. A naturopath will take a full case history and identify where and when you health has started to become unbalanced and will decide on the most appropriate treatment for you. Along with supplementation, dietary interventions as well as lifestyle modifications may appear in your treatment plan.
Tolle Causam (Identify and Treat the Root Cause)
Instead of just addressing your symptoms, naturopaths aim to find and treat the underlying causes of illness. They take a holistic approach to how you got into the unbalanced state to begin with. We look at factors such as diet, stress, environment, and genetics to understand the root cause of all health issues.
Tolle Totum (Treat the Whole Person)
Treating the whole person is recognising that imbalances can be initiated from the mind body and spirit. We look into the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health of the individual acknowledging that imbalances in any area can affect overall wellness.
Docere (Doctor as Teacher)
A core principle of naturopath is educating and empowering patients to take charge of their own health. Naturopaths should provide guidance, teach self-care practices, and work collaboratively with patients to promote long-term optimal health.
Prevention (Prevention is the Best Cure)
Preventative care is the best way to ensure optimal health and longevity. Naturopaths encourage healthy lifestyle practices that prevent illness before it starts. This is where education on proper nutrition, exercise, stress management and other habits that support optimal health is key.
Wellness and Health Promotion
Beyond diseases and treating illness, naturopaths are dedicated to promoting optmal health and wellness. They focus on enhancing the quality of life and supporting individuals in achieving their highest level of well-being.

How Can a Naturopath Help You?
Naturoapths can help with many health concerns and are often consulted as a last resort where other mendicines have not had the desired effect;
Chronic Conditions: digestive issues, allergies, fatigue, hormonal imbalances and skin problems.
Preventative Care: boosting immunity, managing stress, improving physical performance and improving energy levels.
Lifestyle Diseases: Helping to manage conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, or weight issues.
Mental Health: Providing natural approaches to help reduce anxiety, depression and stress.
Natrupaths take time to understand your history, health goals, and challenges, which allows for a personalised approach to care. Naturopathy can be a complement to conventional medicine, particulary for those looking for natural or less invasive treatments.
